Plastic Optical Fiber Duct

Plastic Optical Fiber Duct

Smooth Inner Wall, Extremely Low Coefficient of Friction: Utilizing specialized plastic extrusion molding, the inner wall is extremely smooth. During air-blowing fiber optic cable laying, the coefficient of friction is extremely low, allowing for longer air-blowing distances and significantly reducing the cost of manhole installation and construction.

Good Flexibility and Strong Lateral Pressure Resistance: Possessing excellent bending performance, it can be laid according to terrain undulations, adapting to complex topography. Simultaneously, its high ring stiffness can resist external soil pressure or heavy object crushing, protecting the internal optical fibers from breakage.

Product Advantages

Smooth Inner Wall, Extremely Low Coefficient of Friction

Utilizing specialized plastic extrusion molding, the inner wall is extremely smooth. During air-blowing fiber optic cable laying, the coefficient of friction is extremely low, allowing for longer air-blowing distances and significantly reducing the cost of manhole installation and construction.

Good Flexibility and Strong Lateral Pressure Resistance

Possessing excellent bending performance, it can be laid according to terrain undulations, adapting to complex topography. Simultaneously, its high ring stiffness can resist external soil pressure or heavy object crushing, protecting the internal optical fibers from breakage.

Corrosion-resistant, waterproof, and moisture-proof

Chemically stable, it is not afraid of corrosion from acidic or alkaline soils or groundwater, does not rust, and has excellent sealing performance, effectively preventing moisture and humidity intrusion and ensuring long-term operation of optical fibers in dry environments.

Insulated and explosion-proof, with high safety

The plastic material is an excellent insulator, with no eddy current loss and no conductivity; when used in lightning-prone areas, high-voltage power stations, etc., it can effectively prevent secondary damage to the optical cable from lightning or fault currents.

Lightweight and high-strength, easy to install

Weighing only about 1/5 of steel pipes, it is easy to transport and handle; it supports long-distance coiled installation with fewer joints, greatly improving laying efficiency.

Supports future expansion

Air-blown microtube technology allows for the subsequent air-blowing of even smaller microtubes into existing main pipes, reserving space for future fiber optic expansion without the need for re-excavation of the road surface.

Product Applications

product-1706-1279

Communication Backbone Networks and Metropolitan Area Networks: Silicon core tubes are commonly used as protective sheaths for optical cables in direct burial or conduit laying of long-distance trunk lines and urban backbone ring networks.

FTTH Access Networks: For the "last mile" from roadside junction boxes to user rooms, micro-ducts, butterfly-shaped optical cable sheaths, or ordinary PVC/PE conduits are commonly used.

Data Centers and Computer Rooms: For fiber optic cable protection under cable trays and anti-static floors inside computer rooms, preventing damage from messy patch cords, flame-retardant PVC flexible conduits or rigid tubing are commonly used.

Smart Grids and Rail Transit: For the protection of OPGW/ADSS optical cables leading down through high-voltage transmission lines, and for the protection of communication signal optical cables along high-speed rail/metro lines.

Broadcasting and CATV Networks: For underground cable protection during the fiber optic upgrade of cable television networks.

Industry and Security Monitoring: For cable protection in harsh environments such as chemical plants, mines, and tunnels for video surveillance and automated control networks.

FAQ

Q1: How does an air-blown microtube system work?

A: Air-blown microtubes are a "tube-in-tube" technology. First, a large-diameter main pipe (such as a 40mm/50mm HDPE pipe) is laid underground. Then, compressed air is used to blow bundles of microtubes with an outer diameter of only 5mm-16mm into the main pipe. When additional fiber optic cables are needed in the future, optical fibers are blown into these microtubes. The advantage is that investment can be phased, expansion can be made at any time, and there is no need to dig new trenches.

Q2: How much pressure can plastic fiber optic conduits withstand when directly buried outdoors? Will they break?

A: Qualified plastic conduits for direct burial (such as HDPE double-wall corrugated pipes or high-rigidity solid-wall pipes) have high ring stiffness (usually reaching SN8 or SN12.5 or higher). Under standard depths of backfill soil, even after being run over by heavy vehicles, they will not crack or deform. When purchasing, products with the appropriate ring stiffness level should be selected according to the burial depth and ground load.
