Heavy Duty Cable Ladder

Heavy Duty Cable Ladder

Heavy duty cable ladders are built with deep side rails (no less than 150mm), thick steel plates with a thickness ranging from 2.0mm to 3.0mm, and densely arranged rungs.

Tailored for large-scale power cable laying and multi-circuit cable grouping, these ladders adapt well to harsh industrial working conditions.

Their open-frame structure delivers superior heat dissipation performance and outstanding load-bearing capacity, making them a practical choice for application scenarios including power stations, heavy smelting workshops, mining tunnels and offshore platforms.

Maintenance Guidelines

Routine maintenance is essential to extend the service life of the cable ladder, especially when it operates under long-term heavy loads, continuous vibration and corrosive working environments. Specific maintenance requirements are as follows:

Regular Cleaning

Clean dust, oil stains and sundries inside the ladder and on the rung surfaces every 6 to 12 months. Compressed air or soft brushes are recommended for cleaning. Steel brushes and sharp hard tools are strictly prohibited, as they will scratch and damage the anti-corrosion coating of the product.

01

Coating Inspection and Repair

Regularly check galvanized and powder-coated surfaces for coating peeling, red rust and white rust. For local coating damage, polish the rusted area thoroughly first, then apply zinc-rich primer or matching touch-up paint. If the galvanized layer suffers large-area damage, re hot-dip galvanizing treatment is required.

02

Connection Fastness Check

Inspect all bolts, nuts and splicing plates every six months. Long-term vibration caused by heavy loads may loosen the connecting fasteners. Use a torque wrench to retighten all fasteners to the standard torque value. Meanwhile, check and confirm the grounding jumper wires are intact and functional.

03

Load Control

Never operate the cable ladder beyond its rated load capacity. Before laying additional cables, calculate the total load to ensure it stays within the designed safety range. If obvious side rail bending or rung sagging is observed, unload the cables immediately, and carry out reinforcement or replacement for the damaged parts.

04

Special Maintenance for Corrosive Environments

For ladders installed in coastal areas or chemical plants, flush the surface with clean water every three months to remove residual salt and chemical contaminants. After the surface is completely dry, apply anti-rust oil (applicable only to non-powder-coated surfaces).

Transportation & Storage Requirements

Standardized transportation and storage procedures effectively prevent product damage before on-site installation. The specific specifications are as follows:

Packaging Standards

Cable ladder sections are stacked in layers, with foam strips or corrugated paper padded between layers to avoid surface abrasion. All products are placed on ISPM-15 compliant fumigated solid wood pallets and firmly fixed with strapping bands to ensure overall stability.

Waterproof and Moisture-Proof Measures

Each pallet unit is wrapped with no less than three layers of heavy-duty stretch film, matched with rainproof covers and edge protectors for enhanced protection. For 4 to 6-meter-long ladder products, install steel or nylon strapping bands every meter for reinforced fixation.

Lifting and Handling Specifications

Use professional lifting slings or spreader beams for loading and unloading operations. Do not use steel wire ropes to directly bind and lift the ladder body, to avoid scratching the anti-corrosion coating on the edges of side rails. When using a forklift for handling, fit rubber sleeves on the fork arms for cushioning protection.

On-Site Storage Rules

Store the cable ladders in flat, dry and well-ventilated areas, with the pallet base at least 150mm above the ground. Do not expose the products to the open air for more than 30 consecutive days. For long-term outdoor storage, cover the products with waterproof tarpaulins completely.
