Hot Dip Galvanized Cable Ladder

Hot Dip Galvanized Cable Ladder

Hot dip galvanized cable ladder is an open cable support frame built from sturdy structural steel like Q235B or SS400. After shaping, we dip the whole piece into molten zinc to form a tight zinc-iron alloy covering on its surface.

It keeps the ladder tray’s strong points: great heat dissipation and solid weight-bearing ability, plus strong anti-rust performance from galvanization. It works perfectly for outdoor cable trenches, tunnels, seaside sites and overseas engineering projects.

Core Production Flow

The galvanizing finish directly decides how long the ladder can last. Our standard production steps go as below:

Pre-treatment Stage (Degreasing → Pickling → Washing → Flux Coating)

Degreasing: Wipe off surface grease and dirt completely

Pickling: Use diluted hydrochloric or sulfuric acid to clear rolling scale and rust spots

Washing: Rinse away leftover acid liquid to avoid residue damage

Fluxing: Coat with zinc ammonium chloride solution, which stops fresh oxidation and helps zinc stick firmly to steel

Hot Dip Zinc Coating
We submerge cleaned ladder frames in liquid zinc heated between 445°C and 465°C. Multiple zinc-iron alloy layers form under high heat, topped with a pure outer zinc film. We control soak time and lifting speed carefully to make the zinc layer even all over.
Cooling & Passivation
Once galvanized, we cool the ladders with air or water, then do passivation treatment (chromate or chrome-free options available). This seals tiny surface holes and greatly slows down white rust formation.
Quality Checks

Visual check

Smooth full surface, no bare steel areas, no bulky zinc slag buildup

Coating thickness test via magnetic gauge

Minimum 65μm; up to 85μm for heavily corrosive working areas

Adhesion test

Cross-cut scratch or light hammer tap to confirm zinc layer won't peel off

Product Strengths

Full-surface coverage

Zinc coats outer faces, inner spaces, sharp edges and welded joints evenly

Sacrificial anti-corrosion

If the surface gets scraped, zinc wears away first to protect the steel base

Long service lifespan

20 to 30 years under regular environment; 10 to 15 years for factory or coastal marine settings

No regular upkeep needed

No extra paint coating required, cuts long-term operating costs

Key Rules for Handling & Installation

Follow these rules to keep its anti-rust function intact during transport and fitting:

Transport & Storage

Use lifting straps lined with rubber cushions-never lift directly with steel wire ropes. Keep stock in dry, airy warehouses; do not leave ladders sitting in pooled water or exposed to chemical vapors for long, otherwise white rust will form quickly.

01

On-site Cutting & Drilling

Cutting and drilling on site scrapes off the galvanized layer right away. You must brush high-zinc touch-up paint (zinc content over 70%) onto cut edges straight after cutting. Better to order pre-cut sizes from our factory to reduce on-site trimming work.

02

Installation Tips

Only match with hot dip galvanized or stainless steel bolts, nuts and washers to prevent electrolytic corrosion. Do not hit the zinc coating hard with hammers.

03

Separate from Copper & Lead Parts

When the environment is damp, direct contact between galvanized steel and copper speeds up zinc corrosion fast. Fit insulating pads or separators between different metal parts.

04

Regular Routine Checks

Carry out a full inspection every one to two years, check for red rust, white rust pits or dents/cracks from impact damage, and fix damaged spots without delay.
