Production Process
Wire Preparation
Low-carbon steel wire-characterized by high corrosion resistance, high strength, and ductility-is selected as the raw material. In accordance with engineering design specifications, the wire diameter typically ranges from 2.0 mm to 4.0 mm. The raw material undergoes a cold-drawing process to reduce the wire rod to the target diameter.

Galvanizing / Coating
Drawn steel wire undergoes surface anti-corrosion treatment; common methods include:
Hot-dip Galvanizing: Metal coating weight is generally no less than 245 g/m².
Galvanized / Zn-5%Al Alloy (Galfan alloy): Offers superior corrosion resistance.
PVC Coating: Provides additional anti-corrosion protection for harsh environments.

Weaving
Surface-treated steel wires are woven using specialized mesh-weaving machines. Key features of the weaving process include:
Double-twisted hexagonal structure: Adjacent steel wires are twisted in pairs to form hexagonal mesh openings.
Triple-twist method: Continuous pairs of wires are woven with a three-half-turn twist.
Double-wire twist length: The twisted section measures at least 50 mm in length to ensure the anti-corrosion coating remains intact.
Woven into continuous rolls of high-strength hexagonal mesh.

Cutting & Assembly
The woven mesh panels are precision-cut according to design specifications.
Edge finishing (such as overlocking or hemming) is performed manually or mechanically.
Components-including front and back panels, base panels, and diaphragms-are assembled into a box-like structure.
For box-type gabions, the front, back, base, and lid are typically formed by folding a single continuous mesh panel.
The finished units are compressed and bundled using a hydraulic press to facilitate transport.
